A ceramic video chat screen displayed on a phone stand that also becomes a lamp. In today’s technological culture where we look to digital screens for identities and intimacy, reducing human relationships to data sets, Zhang’s work demonstrates a fragmented sense of home and distorted intimacies.

The title is from a dream poem, of me stubble into a happy hell, saw my grandpa, and returned to a wet raining dirty New York street, felt comforting afterwards.
